Reality television fans in Michigan and around the country may recall that 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star Kim Kardashian was involved in a seemingly minor automobile accident in March 2014. While both of the vehicles involved sustained minor damage, Kardashian and the man behind the wheel of the second car appeared to have escaped the crash unhurt. The pair were even seen hugging after exchanging details at the accident scene. The man says in a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles on March 1 that he was more seriously injured than it may have appeared at the time, and he is seeking an unspecified amount of damages from the 35-year-old star.
The man claims in his lawsuit that Kardashian acted negligently when she made a left turn directly into the path of his vehicle. Reports indicate that Kardashian had been attempting to turn at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Benedict Canyon Drive. Photographs of Kardashian's SUV taken after the car accident show minor scratches and scuffs on the front bumper.
The man says that he suffered injuries that left him physically disabled and in pain and discomfort, and he is seeking compensation for lost income as well as for his property damage, medical expenses and legal fees. The man also wants Kardashian to pay him for the reduction in earnings that his injuries are likely to cause.
The degree of automobile accident injuries may not always be immediately apparent, and even collisions that occur at low speeds can cause painful whiplash injuries that can take many months to recover from fully. Personal injury attorneys may call upon medical experts to explain to juries how the rush of adrenaline that often follows an accident can mask injuries and reduce pain.
